Guest Techineer Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Does anyone know of a driver that will allow me to make better use of the buttons in W98SE on an MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 (wireless optical) mouse? It's part of the Wireless Optical Desktop Pro package. I have several machines connected through a Belkin switchbox, including this Win98SE machine and one running DOS 6.22/Win3.1. It sure would be nice to be able to use some of the buttons on the mouse with them, but I'd settle for just the W98 box. I've tried installing several packages so far: Intellipoint 5.2 and 5.1 won't install at all 4.12 and 4.1 install, but the cursor jumps downscreen when you approach any button Any help appreciated!

Kensington Mouseworks leaves Intellipoint in the dust: http://us.kensington.com/html/1466.html#mw611 but I use it on a wired 5-button Intellimouse. The description mentions several limitations to the software, but, whether by design or oversight, running a wireless mouse is not one of them. The software allows you to independently program all buttons for each program you use, so there is no limit to how the mouse is set up for any program, except for the overall five button capacity. I've used it on 98SE and WS2K - it works beautifully.
