Anti Virus Scanner

How do I uninstall Mcafee anti virus scanner from ,my compaq 5414 computer.

I have recently install the AVG virus scanner but the Mcafee still comes up

in my TSR task bar. I am running Windows 98 2d Edition. I have located it in

the Windows explorer but I know if I just delete it ,bad things will happen.

It does not show on the Add/Remove menu in the control Panel.

Normally one uses start, settings, control panel, add-remove programs. Wait

for the list to be developed (under a minute), then scroll down to the

prgram you want to uninstall. If McAfee is not listed here, try looking for

a file like uninstal.exe under the mcafee directory, probably under

C:\program file\mcaffee or similar.

 

Finally, if you wnat to know where things are started on a PC, try the free

program called AUTORUNS. Not only can it see 99% of where things start, but

it can give you control to not start them by simply unchecking the box next

to the program:

Is there a "unin.exe" or similar in the McAfee directory? If yes double click it

to uninstall although it may fail/err with "missing or not found".
