as the title would suggest, on 1 of my pc's, i have to hold shift and press "2" to obtain the @ symbol.

similarly, the @/comma button gets me inverted commas.

someone suggested its a european keyboard setup but this did not always do this and i have not recently introduced any new keyboard to the pc.

Is the keyboard on that system running under XP or Vista, it doesn't really matter except the layout in Control Panel looks slightly different.

Go into Control Panel/ Regional and Language Options.

In Vista the Format should be English (United Kingdom)

If not hit the Keyboards and Languages Tab and then Change Keyboards.

In the Default Language Input use the drop down to make sure English (United Kingdom)- United Kingdom is selected then click Apply.

Hi Tis, re open the regional and languages box, click on the drop down for "English (UK)" and re-select "English (UK)" then click "apply". See if that forces the system back to where it should be.

At the moment it seems to be set for American English.
