Attachments to Windows Mail

Hi this is my first time and Im a learner as far as P C s go. My problem is that some emails with attachments {not all} When I go to open I get a box which says do you want to open this file,I click on Ok, then another box opens saying .This file does not have a prog associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel. Any help would be apprieciated

Hi Ruddles;

My first question is what is the file type of the attachment?

 

For instance if it's a doc file you need something like Microsoft Office or Open Office to view it. If its a picture it could be something like jpeg, giff or bmp.

 

Once we know what the file extension is we can associate a program with it.

Thanks for reply, When I click on attachment ,the name of the email followed by p p s and windows power point slide show opens up .The only other thing on there is I E F /4S2 V .I dont know what they mean.
