I Thought id post this up...

 

if you have a lapop that is already recieving a wireless signal just connect your xbox to it by using an ethernet cable from the port on he xbox to the port on he laptop and go to:

Control Pannel > Network Connections then right click on your connection and go to properties, then click the Advanced tab and then tick Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection click ok and roberts your fathers brother!

I did that way to but had a problem it keeps saying the default address (192.168.0.1) is already attributed ...but I cannot find this address anywhere!?

This will work yes BUT, you are then relying on your laptops internet connection which is not ideal as they are often not very good.

your using 2 devices power, this method of connection is flaky at best as while you can use it, you will not receive all the packets you need and cannot set port forwarding

 

I have all my games consoles connected via Gigabit Ethernet, and if you can I recommend you do the same
