Authentication Process for Multi-domain Forest??

Hi all,

 

We currently have a windows 2000/2003 forest with two domains in two

different sites. We have a dedicated line between the two sites

(domainA and domainB).

 

When the dedicated line is down, a user from DomainA cannot log onto a

different computer in DomainB he has not logged on before. What is the

process of authentication when userA tries to log onto a computer of

domainB?? does the initial request go to the DC of the computer, or to

that of the user? And when is the GC contacted...
