Streaming audio - card conflict

Problem - can't record streaming broadcast audio on some software.

 

Details - I'm able to record same via RealPlayer, however I want to be able to schedule recordings, so have downloaded "Cool Record Edit Pro" app. It has a conflict with my Dell SigmaTel audio card.

 

under Troubleshooting, their alert says "Sigmatel Audio card support the "Stereo Mix" input, but in some cases this input may be disabled inside the audio drivers (Dell, Gateway). [i don't even want stero] You can fix this issue installing audio drivers from another vendor - LG, Intel..."

 

They list http://us.lgservicescom/ link with instructions to go to Product Support, Device Driver... However, at the website there is no Device Driver in Product Support. Neither Cool Record nor LG have responded to inquiries.

 

Can anyone assist?

Hi, and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help, sorry I have missed this till now, but I am going to have a look at what may be the best answer for you. I will get back to you, but it may need a different sound card.

Without looking it up, the sound system you have now, is it a separate sound card the Dell Sygma Tel? Plugged into a PCI slot, or is it part of your mother board?

If part of the mother board, a separate PCI slotted sound card such as one of the sound blaster type could be the answer.

The SigmaTel card is part of the Dell E-1505 laptop. Thanks for getting back to me. Will look for more from you.
