RandyL Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Hi bobby; That probably depends on the manufacturer. I've used recovery disks from Compaq to install to a new hard drive and HP says it will work. I contacted them. I'm pretty sure Dell might work too. However on some brands they only work in conjunction with a partition on the original drive if I'm not mistaken. However unless your mobo is the exact same one you'll be out of luck. What is the make, model and number of your PC? Quote We are all members helping other members. Tootech Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Could do with a bit more info to work this one out. What was the model of the old board/computer, and what have you bought to replace it? Also, what happened to the old board, was it faulty? Thanks. Quote
