Measuring printer traffic

We're about to decide to move some servers from the HQ to branch sites or

move most of the servers to a virtual environment hosted in a datacenter.

The decision is depending on the amount of printing traffic being generated.

Is there an easy way to measure printing traffic?

 

The idea was to move storage, database and terminal servers to a datacenter

with a high speed backbone. Offices, including HQ, connect to the datacenter

using a permanent VPN. Each office gets it's own printserver that hosts the

printers for the specific office. Is this the best way to do or are there

other ways?
