Cant open any .Doc in Microsoft word 2007

Hi,

Im having a issue.

I cant open any .Doc in word the error saids: the file bob.doc is not available.

I dont have any virus we worked on it here 2 weeks ago my system is clean.

i have microsoft office 2007 professional.

Can anyone help me resolve this i have allot of DOC that wont work in Word.

What anti virus software do you have?

Hi,

Yes we had issues and this site helped me fix them.

I have AVG 8.5 running.

but i know theres more installed but nit running.

There have been people with the same problem and AVG was to blame.

 

For a test, disable AVG and see if you can open the files, if that dont work you might have to uninstall it. If it is still the same problem then you know its not AVG.

 

Is AVG the free version or the paid for one?

Ive tried safe mode and still nothin works in office and now ive try disabling AVG which is a paid version and still the same nothin opens.

the error said the file BOB letter is not available.

also ive tried to open the other like powerpoint excel nothin opens files.

Ok download Open Office from here;

 

OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

 

This will enable you to open MS Office documents and other files.

Can you create a document, save it to disk and then open it?

 

Are you trying to open files by double clicking on them? If so, try opening them from within Word using the File / Open commands. See if that works.

You said you "tried to make a document". Does this mean you can't create a document or that you can't open the document you made?

 

Either way it sounds like it's time to reinstall microsoft office 2007 professional if you can't make or open a document you made with it.

 

I'm assuming you have the disks and that this isn't a trial version.
