Ok Ace, I take it you are not keen on taking the cover or covers off your laptop to look yourself.

 

Considering we have tried all the settings regarding reinstalling Windows Media Player 11, and cannot find any other faults elsewhere, I suggest you take it to a repair technician, as I am convinced now there is something wrong with the CD/DVD drive itself. It may need replacement or a minor repair.

No i can take it of no problem but because it's a laptop i never really opened it before like i have opened my PC so i mean what things do i have to look out for? because i just burned songs again and it completed one then it said windows media player encountered an error while burning. verify that the burner is connected properly and that the disk is clean and not damaged.

 

so it does burn but not all of the songs just completed 1 and then it just gave up!

Burning with WMP has always been a problem partly due it's copyright protection features. Wolfeymole has advised you well, use 3rd software for burning like Nero or Roxia. You have to pay for those two, see link below to a freeware burning solution and give it a shot (untested).

Nah won't work i will just take it to pc world and see what they can do for me, having said that i fully appreciate all the help i got from you guys Thanks alot once again! :)

PC World, will charge a lot more than a more local type of repairer, also they will probably send it away as their in house facilities are never up to much. I would recommend looking at the local guy first, to save you both time and money.
