Problem in installing sp2 on windows server 2003 --NEED HELP

[Guest Rics]

While installing sp2 I am getting the following errors.

 

1)Windows File Protection error.

2)An internal error Occurred.

 

 

I have checked the svcpack.log file the last few lines of the file are:

 

495.454: CheckVLKForBlock: LIC.dll not trust verified

495.594: Trying CheckVLKForBlock again

496.422: CheckVLKForBlock: LIC.dll not trust verified

496.422: Error: CheckVLKForBlock failed

496.422: Inventory complete: ReturnStatus=536741199, 478187 ticks

496.422: Num Ticks for invent : 478187

508.266: UnRegisterSpuninstForRecovery, failed to delete

SpRecoverCmdLine value, error 0x2

508.266: DoInstallation: Failed to unregistering spuninst.exe for

recovery.

508.282: An internal error occurred.

510.891: Message displayed to the user: An internal error occurred.

510.891: User Input: OK

510.891: Service Pack 2 installation did not complete.

511.907: Message displayed to the user: Service Pack 2 installation

did not complete.

511.907: User Input: OK

511.907: Update.exe extended error code = 0x1ffe054f

511.907: Update.exe return code was masked to 0x643 for MSI custom

action compliance.

 

 

Need your help urgently.

Is your AV and firewall(s) disabled when you ran the update?

 

Fill us in on what else you've tried, what is running when you tried it, is

this machine part of a domain that is affected by a policy that may be

preventing such action, are you an admin on the machine, or is this a

standalone or a home computer?
