Guest boe Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I'm running Windows 2003 R2 X64 SP2. If I go to my computer - properties and advanced, environment variables, I copy and past the path - C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\RAC5;C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\oma\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\;C:\WINDOWS\ADMT;C:\Program Files\Intel\DMIX and that looks right When I go to a command prompt and type path, I get C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\RAC5;C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\oma\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\;C:\WINDOWS\ADMT;C:\Program Files\Intel\DMIX Path= ;C:\Program Files\Intel\DMIX Any thoughts on why? Thanks

Guest boe Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Re: Path not set correctly - not sure why Thanks - yeah - that is what lead me to look at my path in the first place - it is set correctly in the environment variables. Guest boe Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Re: Path not set correctly - not sure why THanks again - I did do the last thing that you mentioned and created the expandable path and that resolved the issue! Guest Dave Patrick Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Re: Path not set correctly - not sure why You're welcome. That's strange that the Microsoft fix was to change the variables to actual path strings rather than fix the real problem of incorrect registry data type. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
