Hi,

Trying to figure out how to manually force an Windows 2000 NTFS volume to

dismount or go offline.

Similar to what the chkdsk /x function does but just the dismount part.

Cant seem to figure it out.

Thanks in advance,

George

You can do it in diskmgmt.msc or with mountvol.exe.

Hi,

How do you do it from the dskmgmt.msc?

Oh read more. The disk subsystem is not extremely different between 2000 and

2003. MS even says you can copy fsutil.exe from XP:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/176970.

So shush.
