Hello everyone haveing crossfire probs:(

I just installed a 4870 x2, my previous card was a 8800 gtx. I used driver cleaner in safe mode. It says all is well in gpuz and everest, 2 gpus ect. When i start any game it gives what looks to me like two screens one on top of another and its dark, but the ati crossfire logo is in the top corner. So i ctrl alt del, then go back to game and the logo is gone the game looks normal but bad frames it must be running one on gpu. Can anyone please help me?

Is that not a SLi mainboard and not Crossfire ready?

 

SLi is 2x NVIDIA GPUs.

 

Crossfire is 2x ATI GPUs.

Hi I am fairly sure since its one card that it will work, it does recognize the card and the gpus. but you may be right.

Hello and welcome back.

 

It will reconise one card but not both ATI,s.

 

I am afraid it is buy two SLi GPUs of same size,speed etc and fit them.

 

So you need two NVIDIAs of exact same model and you can then have the dual cards you wish to or just run the one ATI.
