Event Log size won't increase

I have two Win2K3 member servers that will not let me increase the size of

the event logs. I have tried on multiple occasions to increase the App and

Sys logs from the default 512Kb to 1024Kb or 2048Kb to occomodate the high

level of events from the installed applications. When I appy the new

settings, no errors are produced but the next time I check the size of each

log it is set back to the default. Can anyone tell me what is going on here?

Both servers are at the latest patches, and both are running SQL 2000.

Hello Joe,

 

Check the policies that are applied to the domain and maybe also to the OU

where the member servers in. With gpresult on the server you can see which

are applied from the higher level, here you have to configure the settings,

not locally.

Thanks. However, there are 10 other member servers on the network and only

2 have this problem. So I'm confident it is not a group policy issue.
