What would cause permissions to *NOT* inherit the permissions of a

particular folder when they are moved to that folder?

Hello Wowbagger" Wowbagger~~,

If the data is moved from the same volume or disk, it will keep the previous

settings.

A'hacking the registry I shall go - I want permissions to be determined by

where the files -are-, not where they used to be.

Many thanks.

One question though... will this registry tweak update the permissions when

the files are moved through the command line instead of through Explorer?
