Hello there,

well basicly, i installed Microsoft Office Proffesional 2007 60day Trial, and after a while I didn't seem to use it, so started to uninstall it, but while uninstalling I changed my mind and i thougth well i might as well keep it till it runs out. So i canceled while uninstalling.

Now when i load it i get an erorr (I gues due to missing files) and when go to Control Panel, and to Add or Remove programs when click on Change or Remove nothing happens.

SO im stuck with 800gb that i can't remove and it just takes momory and slows my PC down.

How can i remove it?

Hello and welcome back.

Do a system restore to before you tried to uninstall it.Then uninstall it fully.

Or try this:

CCleaner - Home

Download and install then run.

Then click tools button and under uninstall highlight Office and run the uninstaller.

Let me know how that goes?

I tried option 2,

that programs looks pretty smart, but whem I select it and click on Run Uninstaller again nothin happens.

I can only restore to the day I unstalled it, but does that mean before or after.

Also would i loose programs i have installed if i restore?

Yes you would loose any programs you installed or data you have saved upto the restore point.

Try this:

Download Remove Office 2007 1.0 - Clean uninstall of Microsoft Office 2007 - Softpedia

I am not sure if you would be able to do a registry edit.

You would need to make a system restore point prior to doing the folllowing:

How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature

I do not recommend this way if you are unsure of the registry.

That is brilliant. You are most welcome.

Well done you.

Just a note CCleaner is a great tool but always read the instructions before using it.

If you have any more issues or questions please feel free to pop back and make a new thread and I am sure we can help you.

Jelly Bean is right.

CCleaner if used incorrectly can have dire consequences, be warned.

just keep a raw registry backup somewhere safe ready to import. All apps which allow reg cleanign should come with the same warning. I am yet to find a system killed by a reg cleaner though seen a few messed up but none killed. I have never seen a problem relating to cceaners other functions. One thing though if you set the delete method to secure and choose guttman make sure it finishes its cleaning or you can find all your disk filled :)

That is good nikolay and I use it too. But the warnings given are valid.

For instance I would never recommend the registry aspect of the program or any other reg program unless one is skilled on the registry. (Most reg programs are nothing more then snake oil poison) A backup reg file is a must but not enough.

Freeing up more drive space can be done many ways including Windows itself.

Of course the program has many uses and can simplify things once it's set right but novices should use caution as with any program.

The bottom line is that it is an excellent program but please everyone who reads this thread do not use any program or it's features unless you are sure you know what you are doing.

Sorry to interrupt everyone. Carry on.

one aspect of reclaiming hard drive pace is often missed and that is system restore points. Open my computer right click c: select properties then disk cleanup allow to run then click more options and system restore all but the newest is deleted often cleaning gigs specially on Vista based machines. I turn it off personally as I use ghost

This is true that System Restore can consume a lot of space especially in Vista. But clearing restore points might delete a life line in time of need.

In Vista SR (shadow copy) it is set to use 15% of your free hard drive space by default. It will also make a new point every 24 hours by default. Vista needs this much space to do it so another option is to schedule it to do it less often so you can use the the same 15% but still go back farthur.

You can also change the 15% figure to a a different one, that is lower, but you will have to do it by an elevated command prompt. But doing so will allow fewer restore points.

My suggestion is to leave it alone. Vista SR needs more HD space but it is a life line. Besides 15% is minimal on any machine that has Vista as it should have a large drive.

First do no harm. Leave that life line.

Only remove that life line restore points when removing malware.

you would only delete restore points when you know your system is stable and it leaving the last one still leaves you with a lifeline the same as you had anyway. As I say I turn it off in favour of full system backups I use Norton Ghost but Vistas own backup and restore look promising

No argument from me zinglebarb. As long as you are sure is my point. As you also said.

Those restore points might come in handy.

As i mentioned freeing up a little space on a large drive is not worth the risk of deleting restore points when Vista will fill it up very shortly anyway up to 15%. And trust me it will fill that 15% fast again.

So my point is Vista will fill that space in days unless changed. Regular cleaning of other items will be long term. And the life line remains.

Back to the topic. CCleaner will free up space but leave SR untouched which will fill up fast in Vista anyway.

An image program is better but for the regular member save that in-built life line.
