not connecting to internet

I just got a wireless router. I am connected to it and getting all 4 towers lit up but i cannot connect to internet

please make it simple i am new at this

What is the make and model of the router?

if its a cable modem you need to reboot the modem before it will allocate an ip to the router. If its an ADSL modem router you need to input your user details using the quick start cd and details from your isp to set it up

Who is your internet provider and what is your router make and model please?

 

Im with aol and when i sent up my new router i had to phone aol to get the to activate it for some unknown reason to me anyway and then restarted it and it worked like a dream.

 

Another thing if you can't connect to the internet how are you typing this on this forum?

i can go right to my neibor's router and connect and that is how i am suing this forum

Could you please provide the operating system the computers are each running?

 

Are you using a Proxy?
