Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section. I am new and couldn't find a problem/issues section. Alright, so recently in the past few days my computer has crashed multiple times.

Sometimes my screen goes black and nothing happens except that my computer beeps a few times. Sometimes, when I crash it goes to the blue screen saying that it has crashed, something don't work, blah blah blah. Then, it changes to the screen where you can select to start in safe mode.I have scanned my computer for viruses and malware and nothing is wrong. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks in advance for the help.

ok right click my computer select properties then advanced then start up and recovery and untick the auto restart option. Then right click my computer and select manage then event viewer have a look around (critical, warning, error) for anything that could relate. The jump to black screen with beeps does this happen with a crash from inside windows? if so my initial suspisions fall on the hard drive

I think zingle is looking for anything that is an error. To narrow it down, look in the Windows Logs, and then System and Application sections.

Hard drive errors will look something like this

The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, has a bad block.

okay, under the systems section, I found 2 errors relating to the crash, but all it says is that it shut down unexpectedly, then I found a long continuing list of error, It said pml driver hpz12 service failed to start due to the following error: A required privilage is not held by the client. This list goes on and on, and the time of occurence is when my computer is turned off?

Also, under the applications section I found several errors relating to hpz12 once again, although the errors are different. Also, there were two consecutive warnings saying that Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.

DETAIL -

1 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-2125698551-3454511934-2489293669-1000_Classes:

( this was from the two warnings)

I really appreciate you guys taking time to help, thanks

Hi

If you have more than one stick of RAM, try with only one.

Do you have the latest drivers for you pc, essentially the graphics drivers?

This may help:

You randomly receive a "Stop 0x0000000A" error in Storport.sys when you start Windows Vista

You might also pose your problem to the Vista Forum (not that I'm trying to run 'business' away from FreePCHelp):

Choose: Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)

Burn it as an ISO image, then boot from the disk and follow the instructions.

Go to your burning software and choose burn ISO image then select the file you downloaded and it should burn the disk.

If you have burned it as an iso image you need to insert the disk and reboot.

It will then boot from the disk and you can run it from there.

You can not run the file once you are booted into Windows.

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump\ and attach the last 5 files here. Zip them if you can.

Should be something like this Mini042809-01.dmp <- mini dump file dated 28 April 2009
