What's on the disks?

Is the WinXP machine also FAT32?

The disks contain old tax records, vacation photo's, business records (Word,

Excel, Powerpoint) files

Ideally, you would restore the backed-up data to Win98 and then use Files

and Settings Transfer (FAST) wizard to transfer all of your data to the

WinXP machine.

Using WinXP's FAST Wizard, by MVP Gary Woodruff

Are they in some kind of "backup" set, or are they stand-alone -- can you

read them directly from the floppy disk or does some kind of "restore"

required?

Old question in XP general newsgroup. No, older windows backup files from

prior windows will not restore using windows backup in XP.
