how do i use my lightscribe drive?

my acer aspire desktop has a cd drive fitted with "labelflash" written on it, and i was told when i bought it that i could lightscribe disks.

 

how do i do this? and do i need a special cd or can i use any cd/dvd (although most have writing on them already)

yes you need a special disc thats coated for it .

hi thanks for the replies. i went and bought some lightscribe disks for a project but i cant seem to find any lightscribing software on the computer. call me a noob, but i went through the all programs list and nothing struck me as a lightscribing program.

 

i'm sure by now you must think i'm completely hopeless, but can anyone tell me what it might be called and how to access it. its on an acer aspire desktop running vista home premium, the drive came fitted in the computer from new

You can use Nero.

 

It includes the making of CD covers and disks.

nero? i dont have that. how very odd - they supply me a computer capable of lightscribing disks but without the software to do so !!! oh well, if thats what it takes then i'll go buy nero or borrow it from a friend. thanks for the suggestions

 

by the way, is there a difference between lightscribe and labelflash, and if so are burnable disks from each system interchangeable?
