adding RAID driver to EBCD to recover 2k3 box

Has anyone added a scsi driver to the EBCD iso and then used it

successfully?

I was not paying attention and got myself into some trouble. I was

moving a 2k3 server box from one domain to another. I removed it from

the domain and put in into the workgroup "workgroup" and then I was

going to login and then join it to the new domain. My mistake was not

verifying what the local machine admin password was. Now I cannot

login to the server to continue the move.

EBCD does not recognize the card (DEll Perc4 c RAID) when it does the

search. I've downloaded the driver from Dell and i have the sys files.

I've read the EBCD documentation and I followed the dorections and i

come up with a section with the drivers in it but the scsi drivers are

not found when I do the scsi search.

Any help or guidence would be greatly appreciated. (i can't believe i

did this to myself! )

thanks

thanks for the link. Hopefully this will have updated SCSI RAID drivers

and recognize the RAID array.

I'll post up results.

Re: adding RAID driver to EBCD to recover 2k3 box

Do you know of an easier tutorial to add drivers to the EBCD? It's been

dependable for years but it's not been updated (as far as i can tell)

and with SATA and SATA raid and the advanced cards becoming more

commonplace I fear i'm going to run into this problem more and more.

Re: adding RAID driver to EBCD to recover 2k3 box

thanks for the tip on this. That CD worked like a charm. It seems to

support the Dell LSI/PERC scsi RAID cards. It booted on 3 different

Dell systems with different PERC cards.

If i ever find out how to upgrade EBCD I'll be sure to post back
