Unable to login to win2K3 via Vista

I'm not able to connect to our TS (Win2K3 standard r2) via either of

2 new laptops running Vista Ultimate. I briefly get a dark screen and

then returned to a blank RDP 6 login. This server has been up for 3

years and has 6 users logging in via XP sp2 (rdp 5) into TS every

day. The users are restricted to an Access program via GP. I am

receiving no error messages on event viewer from either the client or

server side. Is KN 914977 a possible solution? Any help would be

greatly appreciated.

Why 914977, which is about:

The mouse and the keyboard may stop responding on a Windows XP

Tablet PC Edition-based computer

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=914977

I would check this one instead:

934430 - Network connectivity may fail when you try to use Windows

Vista behind a firewall device

Thanks for the tip, I had tried that KB and the router had passed all

but UPnP test, so I bypassed the autotune feature of RDP 6.0 with the

same result.

Subsequently, I have done some more investigating and I tried these

things:

Updated one of the XP (sp2) boxes on the local LAN to RDP 6.0 and

attempted connecting over the internet & experienced the same "Grey

Screen" result. I was using a "functional" saved RDP 5.0 connection.

The grey screen seems to last about 15 secs or so.

Tried to log on locally via RDP 6.0 to the TS with same result.

Changed out the router for the server with a Vista approved device

with the same result. 3389 is Port forwarded to a Nic with a static

address

I have no Firewalls running during this testing.

Checked the video card on the TS for updated drivers, no more recent

available. (Nvidia RIVA TNT2 Model64/64Pro(Microsoft Driver)).

I reduced the display criteria to 256 colors and 600X800.

Could I possibly have a "non VISTA compliant" video card in this

server? I'm not sure where to go from here, I'm not an IT guy..

Thanks for all the help

If the rdp 6.0 client on XP gives the same problem as Vista, it's

not Vista's autotuning.

I would check the MTU size of the connection:
