Well my brothers PC died.* After trying several things to fix it, I gave up.* So today we went computer shopping.* After hearing about Windows XP SP3 and the activatuion nightmare I had with my moms laptop with Windows Vista, my brother and his wife decided on a Mac.* Considering I wont be living in this area much longer its much easier to deal with, less prone to support calls and they like Macs, they had one for years before.* So this is at least one case where Microsofts software would have been more of an inconvenience.
