streetd Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I have bought a secondhand Clevo D47EV notebook but the built-in PC camera is not recognised is device manager. I have tried the following: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/D4x0E/Optional/PC_Camera.zip It installed ok but does not work. Device manager shows no problem so I guess the camera is dead? Cheers Dave Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I see no camera driver here Dave. CLEVO - Download Quote
streetd Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 I see no camera driver here Dave. CLEVO - Download Exactly! All other hardware options are there except the in-built camera. Thanks Dave Quote
Plastic Nev Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Hi Dave, You are not the first one I have seen with a problem with the camera, I did a search on it and found some user reviews, here- Clevo D47EV Notebook / Laptop Reviews Australia www.clevo.com.tw One of them stated that the camera had died fairly soon in its life, but wasn't worth bothering about as the quality was poor any way. The other case I mention was on another forum, and once again the camera was dead and not even showing in device manager. I suspected in that case that the cable or connection through to the camera was broken. It may be the camera module is dead in your case, and being a laptop, will be difficult to replace if it is. Do you really need it, and bear in mind picture quality is reported as poor. After all, it is an older model now, and spare parts may no longer be available anyway. No I don't really need it, just would have been nice! Thanks for the effort though. Dave Quote
Jelly Bean Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 On Wolfeys link use the drop down boxes. Choose D400V/D410V/D470V/D480V in the first drop down box. Then in second choose ALL. You will see the driver listed for the cam. Are there any yellow symbols in device manager? Also it appears you need to unzip the file before running and installing. Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Sorry if I'm missing something here JB but where is the cam driver? Quote
