Jelly Bean Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ok I know I have tattoo,s and wear a lot of heavy metal T-shirts and clothing. Lets get to the point. There is an elderly lady living next door to me.We been neighbours just over six years.Mind you she never wanted anyone living next door to her but soon took to me and my child. We often sat outside chatting in the warm months.About two years ago we discovered she was going blind. She then went from a strong independent woman to frail panicy and finds it very hard to navigate around her own home she lived in for thirty years. She is in her mid 80s. She has got lost in her own kitchen poor thing we all get old at some point.I have helped her to bed, when she fell and broke her wrist I was the one who went down the hospital with her. When she fell down the stairs and broke her hip I was the one who seen to her untill help arrived. I am not blowing my own trumpet at all,I have helped her many times and she is very greatfull to me. My gripe is? Saint Johns Ambulance service was there and her front door key is held in a key coded box on her outside front door frame.Well as they were leaving they could not get the keycoded box to shut.So the eldery lady told them to call me. I went and seen to this and also calm the elderly lady down or she will work herself up,get upset and could fall. My point is the guy from Saint Johns took one look at me and was horrified. He also made a sly comment about my T-shirt which has "Metal Goddess" on the front and didnt catch what he said about my tattoo,s. I turned round and said "Just because I have tattoo,s and wear a certain type of clothing doesnt mean I am a bad person and upto no good". He got a little flustered and started to say ohh I didnt mean?????????????? I ignored him and went to see to my elderly neighbour as she was calling me.The Saint Johns woman was also a little disgusted at me for my looks. My point is DO NOT JUDGE a person by what they wear or what they look like. I have never stolen,I am usaly not violent,I am a helpfull person with a big heart. My ownly concern was to see to my neigbour I have no hidden agenda. Keep your comments to yourself untill you find out what a person is like on the inside not the outside. Tootech Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I am usaly not violent Hmmm, thats a bit scary lol I'd guess that the ambulance guys visit all sorts of people, and are sometimes subjected to abuse and violence. They maybe learn to associate people that dress and look different to the 'norm' with trouble. Bit sad I know. I was a long haired heavy metal fan when I was a lad and it was the same then, 'grown ups' and other well repected people in society treated me just the same as these guys treated you. Even work used to get at me, saying I looked like a hooligan. Now I listen to Simply Red and wear trousers, I don't have those things happen anymore. Only joking :) Bit of Linkin Park or Puddle of Mudd suits me fine. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 I agree, some people do except me and are pritty friendly. Maybe they expected a woman in a frilly blouse and a flowered flared skirt and they got metal chick instead.:) Shock horror on there faces was funny though. Take the rough with the smooth. wellies Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 You know your OK and the lady you've been helping knows your OK. That's all that really matters. Nonetheless, it is possible that The Saint Johns Ambulance crew gave the meeting some later thought. They might just realise what you do for your friend and hopefully learn the old but true saying, 'You can't judge a book by the cover'. I learned this a long time ago. Some of the most considerate and intelligent people you could hope to meet can look a little different to the norm ..a bit like you from the sound of it JB. :) Quote Need help with your computer problems? Jelly Bean Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 You are right there wellies. It doesnt bother me I just needed a little moan.:D Now I just phoned the police after several attempts to sort out the issue of a dangerous dog.I was a little narked at the chap on the phone and explained he must understand it has been over a week and no one has contacted me or spoke the the brainless family who admit there dog is as he said a fighting dog. My opinion is lets see if your mongrel can beat my Pitt bull cross staffordshire bull dog? No not literate meaning.I would never start a dog fight. If the family that own the dog had a brain cell between them they could possibly pick up a pen and write there names although that maybe asking way to much of them.:D This dog tried to attack not only my dog but also my child. Then it turned on me and with every kick to its face with my boot it still returned to try and attack me.I could not turn my back on it incase it got me.It did giveup in the end after about ten kicks. Hence a good moan at some guy on the phone and why in over a week nothing has been done. Quoted the dangerous dog act at him and now waiting for the Seargent to ring me to sort this out. Just goes to show some times having a brother as a police officer doesnt do you any favours however it comes in handy to quote the law. Now lets wait and see what happens? ;) Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
mat777 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 if i were you i'd get my own back on the owner by slipping a few sausages in his pocket when he isnt looking and then lets see how much he likes a mad fighting dog going after him...:D Quote Phantom Phixer Old Phantoms never die, they just get spookier....
Jelly Bean Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Mat when he quoted "Oh what it is my dog is a fighting dog" at me I turned at stared at him. I did not say a word. My look on my face said it all. The guy turned around with a look of fear on his face and took his dog in. I doubt the weed will be saying anything to me any time soon. Again possibly appearances crop in,I am a good person yet my outward appearance says I am something else. Still waiting for the police to call back. Anyone else got some good old moans for us to read and what annoys you? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
mat777 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 what annoys me? dont get me started! political correctness, left-wing politics, socialism, the nanny state, health and safety, rampant immigration, religious issues (ie the way someone who has a religiion other than christianity can make all sorts of demands because of it yet christians cant even wear a cross to school.....), the eu farce... basically everything new labour has done since it came to power... Quote Phantom Phixer Old Phantoms never die, they just get spookier....
Jelly Bean Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Strong views there Mat. But the cross thing yes that to me is a disgrace, other religions can were items of jewlery to mark there religion and christians cannot were the symbol of the cross. We are all blameing Gordon Brown for this expences issue, yet this was brougth to light by Gordon Brown. This expences issue was not founded under Labour but has been going on for many years way before Brown.Press and people trying to make Brown the scape goat when infact any gouverment that has ever been in power ripped the people off in this way.All parties are to blame not just labour. I trust none of the parties. I also belive the British laws are way to leanient. I think powers of punishment should be restored in our schools.Teachers being attacked yet are not allowed to defend themselves. I could go down a long list. Plastic Nev Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Well apart from agreeing with all of the above up to some point or other, and just adding that society has been falling downhill since the late forties early fifties. (OK I was born around then, is it my fault?:D) My latest gripe is about two faced breweries, on one hand they complain about the number of pubs closing down, yet on the other, they themselves are closing them without even looking for a new landlord to take over when the previous one leaves. My local brewery has done just that with what have been very good and lively locals close to me, leaving those who like a beer now and then, to have to walk quite a distance to the nearest one still open. Thankfully not owned by the local brewery, or they would have closed that one too. The two faced hypocrites that they are. They make more profit selling cheap booze to the supermarkets so arn't interested in their tied houses any more. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. wellies Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 The only thing I worry about is that I don't seem to worry about anything very much. Should I be worried about this? Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here If Free PC Help has helped you then please consider a donation. I4n Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Jelly Bean, no dog can resist chocolate, start to feed the fighting dog Exlax, throw it over their garden wall, they will soon get rid of the dog when it craps all over the house, yes I know it's a bit extreme, but dog's like this are as lethal as a gun or a Knife to a child.:mad: Quote If it ain't broke.........
Jelly Bean Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 14n the police eventualy rung today. They will be here on Sunday for me to identify the dog.Although nothing can be done only take a note or two and put it on file. Untill the dog actualy bites there is nothing the police can do,lets hope a child is not attacked. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................

KenB Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hi J-B, Sorry to hear of your run-in with your neighbour and his dog. Falling out with neighbours is something I have no experience of but I can imagine how you feel. The reason I am adding to this thread is because I had a similar experience regarding a dog and it's owner. I used to run a lot in a local park and this particular dog had attacked me 4 or 5 times. The owner, an older lady, seemed to think it was amusing. Cutting a long story short .... According to the police ( who visited her, then me ) she is obliged to keep her dog under control. The fact that it did not bite me is not relevant here. The dog was out of control and acting in a threatening manner. My complaint was logged against the lady and more specifically - her dog. I was told that if the dog was out of control again and the police recieved further complaints, the lady could find herself in court. This should be the case with your neighbour. Whilst the dog didn't bite it was out of control and frightened your child. It may be worth asking if there is a similar system in operation where you live. Logically there should be. Local by-laws must state that dogs should be kept under control on all occasions. Jelly Bean Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 Thankyou Ken for your advice. The police just phoned me a few minutes ago. They have spoken to the owner of the dog today, need I say the neighbour denied his dog had got out more than once. That his dog was completely under control. BUT and I say a big BUT. The thong guy across road who is annoying and renminds me of a perv has a large mouth. Thong guy is like 65 years of age,fat and wrinkled and need I say more why we call him thong guy? Ok he will stand in the front street in his leopard skin thong.Paint that picture?EEEWWWWW!!!! Any way thong guy collars police office and tells office that the dog constantly gets out.Hooray for thong guy. It appears also several neigbours have complained about the dog. Neighbour warned to keep dog under control. Lets see what happens? Neighbour also tells police officer the dog is never left out home alone. What the?I just got home from school dog is locked out in garden and neighbour gone out in his car. Some people love to lie and talk out of there rear. Lets see how this one goes? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
