Can't browse the network

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a small network running 2k3 with 4 machines for a while. I have

not changed any DNS or IP settings. All of a sudden the server can't

see any computers and vice versa. All the computers can ping each

other with both name and IP and internet is running on all.

I have checked all the connections and even turned the router off and

restarted.

What could be the problem?

Re: Can't browse the network

Hello John,

Is NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled on the machines?

Best regards

I noticed you multi-posted this to other groups, one particularly was the

windows.server.networking group. It would have been better off if you

cross-posted to any relevant groups so any resposnes will automatically hit

all of them and all you have to do is check up on one of them for any

response. It also helps us to collaborate better across relevant groups.

Since you used Outlook Express to post, that would be easy to cross-post.

Just click on Newsgroups button and select all the ones you believe are

relevant.

See my response in the other group. What other groups did you post to it?
