Hi mrs d;

Are you capturing from a vhs recorder player or are you capturing from a vhs type cam-corder?

If it's the latter is it on their supported hardware list?

AVS4YOU >> AVS Video Recorder >> Devices Tested with AVS Video Recorder

Personally I'm converting my vhs tapes to dvd by using a dvd recorder which is very cheap to purchase.

Once saved in dvd movie format I can view them on my pc.

Windows Movie Maker can also convert them to another format. Have you tried that?
