Win2003 SP2 Upgrade RDP Problem

I have recently upgraded a Windows 2003 server connected to an SBS 2003

domain to SP2. All worked fine for a while until I uninstalled the "Terminal

Server" role and I lost RDP access. Do I need the Terminal Server role for

remote access? If not, how can I regain remote access? The server is not

listening on port 3389 anymore (when i check remotely using PSExec remote

command tool). The Terminal Server & RPC services are running.

Terminal server role = RDP, but it depends on what mode, application mode or

administration mode. App mode requires licenses. Admin mode only allows two

in order to remotely admin the server,

Go to My Computer, rt-click, properties, remote tab. What do you see?

Re: Win2003 SP2 Upgrade RDP Problem

Ace,

You were correct!

I logged on locally and the "allow users to connect remotely option" was

unticked. I'm now able to connect via RDP with the option ticked. I didn't

need to re-install the terminal services role.

Thanks for your help!
