Jelly Bean Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hello there. I just looked at your mainboard specifications. Your board takes 2 sticks of DDR2 800 upto 2 gig. I have a feeling you are trying to insert single chip RAM not dual channel. I dont think this will work if you insert the single channel RAM. Is there a label on the 256 mb ? This will tell you what RAM is supported: MSI Computer Corp. - Product Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Jelly Bean Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 The RAM is incompatable. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Plastic Nev Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Even if the stick was compatible, being perhaps older it may be slower, this would force the existing ram to run at that slower speed any way, so no gain in it. Jelly Bean Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Your welcome. The stick of RAM may run in an older computer but not yours.:( Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
