woz1 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 hello. I am using xp on my pc but i also need to use xp on a laptop that i am about to buy. This is in order to use an old program associated with my camera that is not compatible with vista. If i were to copy my xp, would it work on a new laptop, would there be any problems, is it even legal? If necessary i will buy a new copy, but would rather not. warren. Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 2 problems here Woz. 1: It is illegal to make a copy of XP to install on the laptop and if the copy of XP that you already have is for your desktop only then it wouldn't work anyway. 2: The laptop hardware will probably be designed for Vista only so again XP would not work. Please don't wreck a perfectly good working laptop for the sake of some obscure camera software. Quote
