Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Is AOL your ISP Sarah? If so you need to obtain an external optical drive to load the software. Quote

Jelly Bean Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Hello Sara. Ok let me explain. Is your netbook connecting to the internet at all? Are you able to open webpages? If yes then you need to download and run each item in the list. First download and run "Download the latest version of AOL" by clicking this button: http://info.aol.co.uk/images/buttons/but_getitnow_blue.gif on the link I gave you earlier. Follow the onscreen instructions during download and installing. Then next download and run "Download AOL Toolbar" click the button next to it: http://info.aol.co.uk/images/buttons/but_getitnow_blue.gif Again follow the instructions onscreen that it gives you. Then if you wish to use AOL Instant Messenger then click the button next to it: http://info.aol.co.uk/images/buttons/but_getitnow_blue.gif Then follow the onscreen instructions again. If during any of the installs the computer states it needs "Restart" then you must restart the machine before the next install. You may need your AOL user name or email adress and password during the install. If you cannot get the netbook connected to the internet then your option is to download and "save" the softwares to a USB pen drive via another computer then plug into your netbook and run and install from the USB pen drive. If you do not have a connection via netbook I can give you further instructions on how to use a USB pen drive to transfer files. JB. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................

Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Do you have any hardware eg; a modem or router modem combination to connect to the net Sarah? Quote
sarahbee Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Hi, yes have everything from AOL a netgear router or modem whatever it is and i have connected it up and it works but cant get onto the internet as i cant load the cd for instructions :( Sarah Quote
Plastic Nev Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Hi Sarah, back to your previous question then, any memory or pen drive that plugs into a USB port or socket will do, but as a device you may wish to use for other file transfers later, I would go for the one with the highest memory capacity you can afford. However, I recommend also obtaining a USB disk drive so you can in the future use it for other CD or DVD media, such as other software or music. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
