hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t20N ATA Device

Device Stats = Device cannot start (code 10)

I run Vista Home Premium

The Dvd Drive appears in my Device Manager - Has a little Yellow triangle with exclamation mark over the device

I have been in and updated my driver and when I hit the Check for solutions button it says could not load driver software

 

any suggestions?

Hi jason;

 

As always the first thing to try is uninstalling it from Device Manager by right clicking it. Then reboot your PC and see if Windows detects it and reinstalls the drivers.

 

By the way what is the model and number of your Compaq PC?

Yup, just uninstalled it as directed

didn't do anything special when i rebooted, and did not fix the problem although I note that it did again reappear in the device manager

Scroll down and look at Clearing the registry entries.
