Guest Mindless_Luke Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 i went to watch a movie and a message came up saying "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card." How can i update it?
Guest AlmostBob Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: video card update It- would be available from the makers Whoever made the device would be the one to get the drivres from. If you cannot find details of your display card, 'everest Home edition' (google is your friend) is a program that will inform you of the model. then you can get the latest drivers from the manufacturers web site, or ask again with more detail if the manufacturer has pulled the pin on supporting that model -- -- -- -- -- -- Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de spybot http://www.safer-networking.org AVG free antivirus http://free.grisoft.com/ Etrust/Vet/CA.online Antivirus scan http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx Super Antispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/ Panda online AntiVirus scan http://www.activescan.com Panda online AntiSpyware Scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/spyware/test/ Catalog of removal tools (1) http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ Catalog of removal tools (2) http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/newsinfo/collateral.aspx?CID=40387 Trouble Shooting guide to Windows http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/ Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts file http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm links provided as a courtesy, read all instructions on the pages before use Grateful thanks to the authors/webmasters _ "Mindless_Luke" <u40356@uwe> wrote in message news:7da12444e1a61@uwe... > i went to watch a movie and a message came up saying "Windows Media Player > cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection > between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Anyway, when you can't find a driver, you can always use VLC to play that DVD. <http://www.videolan.org/vlc/>

This one's for Win98 problems. You want microsoft.public.windowsxp.general, or one of the other microsoft.public.windowsxp.* groups. You're FAR more likely to find folks that know how to fix your problem there. -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(Shell/User) Slattery_T@bls.gov http://members.cox.net/slatteryt
