Guest jerryyang_la1@yahoo.com Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Hi The motherboard on my test Window's 2003 Server died yesterday. Following details from a Microsoft Document, I swapped the motherboard and ran a repair installation on the disk. Since then I seem to be getting some strange errors.. I can't seem to access any '.msc' either by the normal shortcuts or via control panel. Running MMC and adding them from there works fine. Also I get errors trying to run windows update. Is there anything as a 'quick' fix you can suggest I need to run ?? I will be replacing this machine in the next week or so. Thanks

Some of the event log errors were DNS related.. I've made some changes and hopefully that is resolved. I am getting W32Time errors, Event ID 29 & 47 ??? Also I still have the issue with the .msc files ! Any ideas ?
Guest jerryyang_la1@yahoo.com Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: Win 2003 Server - Changed M/Board- Errors & Issues This is the error I get with MMC.. MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dnsmgmt.msc. This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have suffcient access rights to the file. This happens on MOST MSC files.
