Guest ruzar.lite@gmail.com Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 We have a Windows 2003 server Active Directory environment with remote users connecting via Citrix. Something we have noticed is that with some users and not all, is that there is a second home folder being created for some users. What should be normally, "\\server\homeshare\ %username%" we see some users with an additional folder, "\\server \homeshare\%username%.%domain%" Any ideas on what causes this and how to fix it? We see users are putting two sets of data into both folders and could cause problems in the event of the need to restore from backup and such.
Guest - Michel Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 RE: Multiple home folders for users Hi, Are you sure you mean home folder and not profile folder? In the last case it's probably because Windows creates a new profile folder if one already exists on the target location. Kind regards, Michel "ruzar.lite@gmail.com" wrote: > We have a Windows 2003 server Active Directory environment with > remote > users connecting via Citrix. Guest ruzar.lite@gmail.com Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: Multiple home folders for users Yep, I'm sure its the home drive/folders. Though, now that you mention profiles, we only do profiles for user who connect via Citrix and a user's profile folder will either setup with "\\server\profileshare\ %username%" or "\\server\profileshare\%username%.%domain%". Under the profiles, it does no produce duplicates, its one or the either. Guest - Michel Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: Multiple home folders for users Is there a chance the Terminal Service Home Folder setting for the Citrix users is enabled (either directly or via Citrix (don't know Citrix, sorry))? You'll find this on the Terminal Service Profile tab for the particular users. "ruzar.lite@gmail.com" wrote: > Yep, I'm sure its the home drive/folders. Guest ruzar.lite@gmail.com Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: Multiple home folders for users In AD, no. We setup folder redirection and profile paths with GPOs. Guest - Michel Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Re: Multiple home folders for users Hmm, my thoughts go in that direction, but I can't really come with something concrete now. Have to sleep a night over it, sorry. "ruzar.lite@gmail.com" wrote: > In AD, no.
