Microsoft states that Mixed Mode authentication exists purely for Legacy compatibility purposes.

That's great and all, but when using Windows Authentication how are you supposed to connect over the Internet using Management Studio when your client machine isn't in the SQL Server's AD Domain (so you can't use Runas)?
