Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Have you tried re-booting and seeing if it works then Matthew? Quote
townendmatthew Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Hi, yea i have rebooted it twice it sometimes works quite un responsivley for about a minute then stops again Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 If you've just bought it Matthew and if it's still under guarantee then take it back as it sounds like a faulty touchpad to me. Quote
townendmatthew Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 just wondred i have been using a universal ac adapter to charge the laptop. i have just felt the box connected to it and it is burning hot. (to hot to hold for more than 5 seconds), now i have unplugged it it seems to be fine. could thas have stopped it working and if so how? i appreciate your help. Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 What happened to the original charger? Quote
townendmatthew Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 i bought it as an ex display, it had no charger but i had a universal charger of my own which is samsung compatable and you and change the voltage as recuired, so i got the laptop cheap and went away happy. not so happy now though. i bought the charger last week for a hp laptop i have and it never got that hot whailst i used it on the hp, but an hour of using it on the samsung it is boiling hot. do you think it may just have devoloped a fault. do you no where i can get an original samsung charger from and not just a replica? sorry for so many questions. Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I hate those type of transformers with adjustable voltage settings, very unreliable in my opinion. I'd shell out for a genuine Samsung transformer Matthew if I were you. Quote

Tootech Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 could thas have stopped it working and if so how? I doubt it very much. The touchpad is connected to the board with a small ribbon cable. I'd guess it will be that or the pad itself that is faulty. Any 'overpower' issues from using the incorrect power unit would damage the power input circuitry. Also, the power unit may be running flat out to keep up with the power requirements of your laptop. Either way your touchpad wouldn't be affected. I'd take it back to be checked out. Quote
