Hi all,

Yesterday I was having a problem with my printer which was something along the lines of "Spooler Application has stopped working." That problem has now stopped but i am getting on saying "printer monitor transfer failure" and I dont know what its doing it. Any ideas of what is wrong, my computer seems to have slowed down alot lately too.

My printer is a lexmark x7675.

Thanks in advance.

Try totally uninstalling the printer and the software, download the full driver package from here and install that and then take it from there.

Lexmark - United States

Lexmark won't allow me to direct link to the driver which is cheap of them but it is there.

Personally I wouldn't give a Lexmark to a charity shop.

It could be the printer itself faulty, can you try installing it on another computer if you have access to one to check it out?

If it won't install on another computer then it is most likely to be faulty.

Sadly I dont have that option. Its odd, the printer still works and prints fine, its just that error comes up at the startup of windows. Don't really know what the error means.

In post number two Wolfeymole suggested you totally uninstall the printer and all the printer software, not just the drivers.

Further after removing those in the proper manner I suggest going to Explore and removing any leftovers in Program Files since this is a Lexmark.

Hi again,

Thats what I did, I used the uninstall feature and then went and did a sweep in the program files for nything which was still lexmark and then reinstalled and the problem still persisted. Not sure why its still doing it, its more of an irritation than anything else.

Did you uninstall the printer from the Control Panel?

Switch to classic view. Look for printers?

Find yours. Right click it and choose remove or uninstall.

Next

Remove any printer software from Control Panel, Add/Remove.

Next

remove any vestiges from Explore> Program Files.

Next

Follow the steps to reinstall based on your documentation.
