adam3822 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 hi just wondering if anybody knows of any good sd card recovery programs free if possible Cheers :-) Quote
Tootech Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Try this one Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home Quote
Fortwilliam Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Recuva has worked for me in the past. Recently though I knew there were over 100 images on my SD card but it would only show 9 old images. I used DiskDigger to get all my image back and it's free as well. Quote

Jelly Bean Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) Hello Adam, thought I would pop a comment on your thread. You popped the SD card into the camera and it asked to be formatted. You did not format it and now your trying to recover pictuers. I think what ever is on that SD card is completly corrupted and unrecoverble. You should of formatted the SD card as asked to before taking pictuers with your camera. It is possibly your printer SD card slot has caused issues or damage to the SD card.Or the slot is damaged and the SD card is ok and got buggy after being in the slot. Or a reinstall of the printer software may help for the future removal of pictuers from the SD card. I think the pictuers are unrecoverable and I would format the SD card then put it into the camera does it request you to format it? Do you have another SD card you could test in that slot? adam3822 Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 well this is the strange part the first few times it did not ask to be formatted so think your view on the reader on the printer may have caused an issue with a few of the pics Quote
Jelly Bean Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 This is the thing Adam to be honest I am not sure what could of caused this corruption. It could be the SD card. It could be the SD slot. It could be the printer software is corrupt or not functioning correctly. Hence testing another SD card in the printer slot may rule in or out an issue, reinstall of the printer software may help.Or put the SD card in some one elses SD card reader slot and format then see if the camera asks for the card to be formatted. I think a little testing may rule in or out what caused this problem. Even the camera it self could of been the cause of this issue and nothing to do with the printer or the SD card. Sorry it doesnt seem much help from me here and no solid answers but if you can try some or all of what I posted we may sort your issue for you and see what caused this. adam3822 Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 will try anything its worth a try thanks Quote
Jelly Bean Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Adam it is so worth a shot. Try the SD card in a family or friends slot first and see if it can recover any pictures. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Jelly Bean Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Adam on a quick note: SD cards are usaly formatted to fat 32 not NTFS. I would check your camera manual and check what the SD card should be formatted to. If it is formatted to wrong format then that could be the cause of the camera asking for the SD card to be formatted. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
