Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hi Beebye Right click My Computer and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab then click the Settings box in Performance. Click the Advanced tab in Performance Options and tell us what the Virtual Memory is listed at in MB at the bottom. Quote

Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 How much physical RAM do you have Bee? Quote
cahekac Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 You need to disable unwanted programs on start up. You can do it by start/run/msconfig + enter Then go to startup programs disable all programs except antivirus and anther you may need on startup. As well your pc may infected with virus or Trojan which can slow down computer performance. Quote
beebye Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 hi wolfiemole, hope I've got this right as I'm a total dunce with computers. It says 260GHz 224hb of ram. Quote

KenB Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hi, 224hb of ram. Confirm this please by doing the following: Start > Run ..type in...winver....hit OK Also right click on My Computer > Properties The amount of RAM you have will be shown in both cases as MB or KB. Hopefully you will have more than 224 :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test

beebye Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 hi kenb, did that & after entering winver & ok, window came up- about windows, which statedphysical memory available 228,848 kb. then I right clicked my computer as u said & in properties it says 2.60GHZ 224 mb of ram. Quote
danzil Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 definatly do a scan for malware, viruses etc.....and run a defrag.....i use www.defraggler.com...its free and pretty good. when changing your virtual memory i would make sure you tick system managed....saves on any other trouble then... you only seem to have 256b of ram i would definatly considering upgrading to 512mb or even 1gb memory is so cheap at the moment... hope that helps a tad. regards danzil :) Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D

KenB Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Hi, You now have 1GB RAM which should run your machine much faster than the original. What you had originally was hardly enough to run XP with. Enjoy :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
