Hi Beebye

Right click My Computer and then click Properties.

Click the Advanced tab then click the Settings box in Performance.

Click the Advanced tab in Performance Options and tell us what the Virtual Memory is listed at in MB at the bottom.

How much physical RAM do you have Bee?

You need to disable unwanted programs on start up. You can do it by start/run/msconfig + enter Then go to startup programs disable all programs except antivirus and anther you may need on startup.

As well your pc may infected with virus or Trojan which can slow down computer performance.

Hi,

224hb of ram.

Confirm this please by doing the following:

Start > Run ..type in...winver....hit OK

Also right click on My Computer > Properties

The amount of RAM you have will be shown in both cases as MB or KB.

Hopefully you will have more than 224 :)

definatly do a scan for malware, viruses etc.....and run a defrag.....i use www.defraggler.com...its free and pretty good.

when changing your virtual memory i would make sure you tick system managed....saves on any other trouble then...

you only seem to have 256b of ram i would definatly considering upgrading to 512mb or even 1gb memory is so cheap at the moment...

hope that helps a tad.

Hi,

You now have 1GB RAM which should run your machine much faster than the original.

What you had originally was hardly enough to run XP with.

Enjoy :)
