Slow response opening local files

I have a strange problem...

 

On my W3K TS when clicking on a file (local or net) it takes approx. 1

minute before the file opens in the appropriate application (word, excel,

notepad...). If I FIRST opens the application (for example word), and from

there opens a file - it opens right away.

 

I have tried everything - and process monitor dosn't show any activity when

waiting...

 

Can anyone help?

How does it behave if trying to open the same file on the console session?

Its the same - slow when clicking on files - fast when opening from

applications.

Thanks for the update.

 

As it is the same speed without TS involved, please try posting the query to

the application specific newsgroups.

 

Eg:

Word - microsoft.public.word.docmanagement

Excel - microsoft.public.excel

Hi,

 

I don't think that you have understood the problem - it is ONLY a problem on

my TS server - and it's a problem with ALL files on the server (so I will be

posting in a LOT of newsgroups)...

 

Maybe som clever people in the W3K server group has the answer.

Looks like it's a problem of associated application starting slowly since

once the application is opened, opening files on redirected drive is not

slow.
