Thank You In Advance! Jjb I hope you aren't actually running Outlook *on* your SBS box (or any Exchange server), and that you mean a client computer connected to Exchange. Please repost (with a *lot* more detail) in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs.
Guest JimB Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Re: Proplem with OL 2003 on SBS 2003 Error MEssage Yes Lawrence, I Am Using OL on our SBS For About two (3) years now with no real problems. This situation I am having only just started. We are a small firm and do not use Exchange. I never really used a DL in mass mailing and usually send multiple emails as independent addresses and this would work fine...Was thinking it might be from an automatic OS and/or OL update? jjb "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > JimB <JimB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > Problem with OL 2003 on SB 2003 Server > > Cannot expand a DL > > ERROR RECEIVED IS --> > > CANNOT PERFORM THE REQUESTED OPERATION. If you don't have Exchange *installed* at all, fine....but here's the KB article "Microsoft does not support installing Exchange server components and Outlook on the same computer" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266418 > This situation I am having only just started. > We are a small firm and do not use Exchange. I'd suggest you investigate changing over - you will likely be amazed at the improvement. Try posting in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs for more assistance with Exchange on SBS. I wouldn't dream of installing a server without it, honestly. > I never really used a DL > in mass mailing and usually send multiple emails as independent > addresses and this would work fine...Was thinking it might be from > an automatic OS and/or OL update? jjb Not that I know of, but you'd probably best post this in microsoft.public.outlook as this isn't a server-side issue. NB: Your SBS server should really not be used as a workstation - no workstation apps should be loaded on it, and no users should be able to log into it. This goes for any server besides a Terminal Services box. Sorry for schoolmarm mode, but this is important. > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > >> JimB <JimB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: >>> Problem with OL 2003 on SB 2003 Server >>> Cannot expand a DL >>> ERROR RECEIVED IS --> >>> CANNOT PERFORM THE REQUESTED OPERATION.
