How to disable a Usb drive in user configuration of a GPO in a DC

Guest Usb drive block in GPO

Somebody please help me block the usb drive in a User configuration of a GPO

in a Domain Controller. Even I tried in Computer configuration of a GPO which

restrict the usbdrive of the Dc also.

As a last resort, go to the windows directory \system32\drivers and

change the permission on the file usbstor.sys. It will render the usb

ports unusable.

I found a free utility, can't remember where, that has a gui, you just

enter the workstation number and you can block USB Drives and CD Drives

without breaking the USB port for mouse/keyboard - it only does Drive

blocking. I applied it to about 100 workstations in under 5 minutes, and

it's working well. Using the GUI you can unblock a workstation to do

maintenance and then block it again in seconds... All done from the

server, remotely.

The fact that you do not remember really helps :-).

I said as a last resort,and no, it does break the mouse/kb, it is

usbstor.dll for usb storage.

do you still have that utility on the server? Maybe you can provide the

name. That helps. I'm looking for the same thing.
