Screen freeze Issue

When I turn on the pc it wont go past the start up screen, I am at a loss :confused:. Can anyone explain how to remedy this. Thanks

Could you tell me if you get any messages come up and what is on your screen when it stops?

No messages and all that it says on the screen is "Acer" Del: Enter Setup and F12:Boot Menu.

What I have noticed is that there are no beeps on startup?

ok restart your computer and hit the F8 key which should then bring up a menu. Use the arrow keys to move down to boot in safe mode. and then come back here and let us know.

Ok, have done as advised but nothing is happening after continuous pressing of F8 key

Ok, How many times did you try because you have only a max of 15 seconds to push F8?

 

 

Also sorry i should have asked this in my first post is it a desktop or a laptop?

Ok you said you could see F12 writen on your screen could u push F12 i just want to see if your computer will respond to anything.

Hi Joy, if it gets as far as the so called flash screen and saying Del for enter set up. It is the del key you need to be pressing not F8. try that, let us know.

I have tried tapping the Del key on startup too and nothing and same goes with tapping F12 key, nothing.

You know when you start a computer it beeps, well there are no beeps on startup

I'm sure you have already but could you please check that the keyboard hasn't come out of it connecting port (just give it a little wiggle and a push) and then try pushing F8 on start up if that doesn't work restart it and try the F12 or del key

Acer has diffrent key sequences to other computers.

 

Is your hard drive listed on the post screen?Black screen white words?

 

EXAMPLES:

 

On a restart of the PC press one of these key sequences.

 

Acer (Aspire, Power, Veriton, Extensa, Ferrari, TravelMate, Altos): Press [F2] or [Del] Immediately After Power Up

Acer (Altos 600: Press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Esc] or [F1] During Boot (for Advanced Options)

Acer (Older PC): Press [F1] or [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Esc] to Access BIOS

 

Others are ALT+F10 or F11.This is to enter recovery console.

 

Try pressing : [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Esc] to enter BIOS.Locate and see if your hard drive is listed there.

 

Load defaults in BIOS save and exit see if that works.

Also, no beeps can mean there is something wrong.

 

On the very first screen that appears in the top left side is usually the name of the BIOS, what does it say?

 

(Award, Phoenix, etc.)
