What did you use "regcure" for and did it offer you a way to backup before you applied its "changes"? -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
Guest Deb Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Re: documentviewer The regcure was recommended to fix and help the pc run faster, i did not click restore point on the regcure before running, no. Guest The Shadow Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Re: documentviewer I had the same problem and I used a restore point that was 1 month old and it fixed the problem. TWO lessons there: FIRST: it's obvious that at least SOME programs that are supposed to help your PC run faster, DON'T. They merely cause problems in the hands of inexperienced users. Might even do the same with the most experienced users, but most of those don't believe such hype and stay away from such programs. SECOND: ALWAYS make a restore point before installing new software. Your best bet at this point is to find a restore point that precedes your problems and use it.

Guest Bernard Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 RE: documentviewer Dear Deb, I red your message about "the feature..." etcetera. I had the same message after re-installing XP, and I finally found out it was my Hewlet Packard-programm that had to be re-installed: it contains a "document-viewer". After re-installing only this part, the message disappeared. Guest Pamela3000 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: documentviewer Bernard is correct. It has nothing to do with RegCure, which I also happen to have on my system. XP OS has well-known issues with some HP All-In-One printers. You need to load the installation disc that came with your printer in order to respond to the "documentviewer" error message. However, this will only temporarily solve the problem. The message will continue to pop up each time you start your PC. Try Bernard's suggestion first by uninstalling the HP Document Viewer (select Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, find and select "HP Document Viewer" then click the Change/Remove button). Restart your system. To reinstall, insert your printer installation disc and do a Custom installation for HP Document Viewer. In my case, I only needed to perform an uninstall of Document Viewer since that particular software was not necessary for the operation of my HP printer. The error message has never returned. Hope this helps! I know how frustrating it can be when you can't seem to find an answer to your XP issues (but it's still better than Vista!)
