Okay, my brother downloaded a Keygen on my computer, and its done something quite annoying.

It keeps popping up every few minutes, just a little screen saying 'Keygen,' usually after I recieve a popup from Windows saying 'Firefox has stopped working.' I click Close Programme, and the Keygen pops up. I have NOT installed it, it is just a downloaded file on my Computer which I have deleted, and yet it is still popping up..

Any suggestions please??

Thanks

Ollie.

Why did you brother do that and when did he do it?

Try a restore point to before he downloaded it.

have you checked in msconfig>startup. is it in there.

what is the name of the keygen, is it definalty a keygen or a keylogger. keygen is a small prog that genereates key for porgrammes, usually used in piracy. a keylogger logs your keys etc so a user can either spy, or find out what you are doing, for password reasons credit card details etc...

have you ran malware scans and antivirus scans as yet......

need more information.
