why doesn't i show my licence server

i have 3 sites and on each site i have TSE

 

i have on each site a dc with terminal licence server enable and validate by

microsoft

 

i specify on each tse which server i must use

 

for me it is ok, but i just want to verify some point :

 

1) how can i be sure that my tse is connected to a licence server and will

not stop in 90 days

(i use lsview is it enough ?)

 

2) in site and services i only see on site A a TS-Enterprise Licence Server,

why can't i see the other licence server ?

(perhaps because they are domain server it is my next question?)

 

3) how can i verify that my TS licence server is in domain or enterprise

mode ?

 

 

4) and how can i modify this mode

Did you install any TS CALs on the TS Licensing Server?

lsview is enough to check that your TS can locate the LS. But that

in itself doesn't guarantee that all is well, you need to verify

that the LS has issued permanent licenses to your clients. Also

keep an eye on the EventLog, which will record warnings if it can't

locate an LS or when the grace period or temporary licenses are

about to expire.

nt :On site A and B TS are W2000S SPK4

On the clients XP PRO SPK2

why i specify on each TS which Licensing Server it must use

detailed and helpful information.

 

Here, I 'd like to add some more information regarding how to discover a

Terminal Services Licensing server.

 

If the server that has Terminal Server enabled is member of a Windows

Server-based domain, there are three methods that you can use to discover a

Terminal Services Licensing server.

 

Method 1: LicenseServers Registry Key Query

 

A server that has Terminal Server enabled first queries any servers that

are listed in the LicenseServers registry.

The following is the location of this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService\Parameters\

LicenseServers

 

Method 2: Enterprise License Server Query

 

A server that has Terminal Server enabled queries the Active Directory

directory service site for the following object, where site-name is the

name of the site in which the server that has Terminal Server enabled

resides, and domainname is the domain name that the server that has

Terminal Server enabled is a member of:

LDAP://CN=TS-Enterprise-License-Server,CN=site-name,CN=sites,CN=configuratio

n,DC=domainname,DC=com

 

Method 3: Domain License Server Query

 

A server that has Terminal Server enabled queries all domain controllers in

the site. If no Terminal Services Licensing servers are found in the same

site, the search ends. Use Method 1 to specify the license server.

 

Therefore, if your main concern is how to specify a Terminal Services

Licensing server, you can take advantage of method 1 mentioned above.
